Cluster Jewel Calculator for Path of Exile
Large Cluster Jewels have three notable positions — two on the sides and one in the middle. Which notables can actually appear together on the same jewel depends on the enchant type (e.g. '12% increased Fire Damage'). This tool figures out which combinations are valid so you don't waste currency rolling impossible jewels.
How It Works
- Pick two notables you want on your cluster jewel. The calculator checks whether they can coexist on the same enchant type.
- For each valid enchant, it shows the middle notable options and the total passive count (8–12 small passives).
- "Two Sides" mode finds jewels where both notables sit on the left and right sides. "Side + Middle" mode puts one on a side and one in the middle position.
- "Single Notable" mode takes one notable and lists every valid jewel it can appear on — useful when you only care about one keystone.
- Refracting Fog mode unlocks cross-enchant combos. Normally notables are locked to their enchant type, but Harvest enchant-swapping or fractured bases can break that rule.
Example: Building a Pair of Minion Clusters
You are playing a Summoner and want "Renewal" (minion life/damage on kill) and "Feasting Fiends" (life leech for minions). Both are on the "Minion Damage" enchant, so they can coexist on a Large Cluster Jewel.
Select both notables in Two Sides mode, then pick 8 passives for shortest pathing. Click Calculate — the tool shows the valid middle notable options. "Vicious Bite" (minion crit) is a common middle pick, so the jewel you want is a Minion Damage Large Cluster with Renewal, Feasting Fiends, and Vicious Bite.

- The passive count matters for pathing. An 8-passive jewel reaches notables faster but has fewer small passive bonuses. A 12-passive jewel has more filler but can be cheaper to buy.

Common Mistakes
- Trying to pair notables from different enchants in Basic mode. If Basic mode filters out your second pick, the two notables simply cannot roll on the same enchant — switch to Refracting Fog only if you know the jewel was fractured or enchant-swapped.
- Ignoring the passive count. Trade listings are filtered by exact passive count — a 10-passive jewel with your desired notables is a different item from an 8-passive one. Pick the count that matches your pathing plan before searching trade.
- Forgetting that each notable has two stat IDs on the trade site. Some notables have both a stat_XXX and an enchant mod variant — the tool generates a trade link that handles this automatically. Building the link manually without both IDs produces zero results.
- Buying a cluster with the right notables but the wrong enchant. Notables are tied to their enchant pool — a "Prismatic Heart" can only appear on Elemental Damage enchants. Verify the enchant string on the jewel before purchasing.
Frequently Asked Questions
- Why can't I pick two notables that I know exist?
- They probably belong to different enchant types. For example, "Fuel the Fight" is on attack damage enchants and "Prismatic Heart" is on elemental damage. They cannot roll on the same jewel unless you use Refracting Fog mode (fracture or enchant-swap shenanigans).
- What is the difference between Two Sides and Side + Middle?
- Two Sides means both notables are on the left and right edges of the jewel — the middle slot gets a third notable you may or may not care about. Side + Middle means one notable is on a side and the other is in the center position. The layout affects which small passives you path through.
- Does passive count affect which notables can roll?
- No. The notable pool is determined entirely by the enchant. Passive count only changes how many small passives sit between the jewel socket and the notables.
- What is Refracting Fog mode for?
- It removes the enchant restriction so you can pair notables from different enchant types. This is only possible on fractured cluster jewels or jewels that had their enchant changed via Harvest crafting. If you are buying a normal cluster jewel from trade, stick to Basic mode.
- Are medium and small cluster jewels supported?
- Not currently — this tool only covers Large Cluster Jewels (the ones that socket into the outer jewel slots on the passive tree). Medium and small jewels have simpler notable pools and fewer combination questions.
- Which passive count is "best"?
- There is no universal answer. 8 passives is the fastest pathing but has fewer small nodes. 12 passives means more small nodes between your jewel socket and the notables — this is usually only worth it if the enchant has a strong small-node bonus. Most builds settle on 8 or 10.
- Does item level affect which notables can roll?
- Yes — higher ilvl means a wider notable pool. ilvl 75 unlocks most notables, 84+ gets you the rarest ones.
- What is a "Megalomaniac" jewel?
- Megalomaniac is a unique medium cluster jewel that rolls 3 random notables with no enchant restriction. This tool does not cover Megalomaniacs — they are pure RNG and cannot be planned the same way Large Clusters can.
- Can I craft a cluster jewel with specific notables?
- Not directly — you roll the right enchant and hope. Alt-regal or Harvest reforge on ilvl 84+ bases is the usual approach.
